Crazy confusing dream pls help?

I had a dream last night that started with my ex and I arguing at what seemed to be a basketball game. I left angry to get my car and leave but couldn't remember how to get to it. Then somehow I walk towards a door to "my apartment" he's still following me trying to talk. Out of nowhere as I am about to close the door on him a police chopper appears above the trees spotlight on my ex. A gunshot, the pilot is hit and crashes. My ex creeps in my apt saying "damn..russians (no clue why sorry)just then we notice a man with a gun sees us. I lock the doors, magically my 3 kids are in the room playing. My x and I start turning off the lights and we linger at 2 very small (2 gallon?) fish tanks. He sprinkles flakes for all the fish, I think guppies and small gold fish. I turn off 1 tank light he the other. We get all light off cept 1 and he said something about his new girlfriend wanting me to return money for stuff I bought while he and I were together he was like a kid who was just scolded by his mom when he told me. I got mad n said she was no good and screw the b and kissed him, he grabbed me back and we really kiss. Just then a noise at the door the shooter picked the lock and came in looking to the kids room. My ex goes into the open to deter him and gets shot in the far upper left chest side. I hide to try and help him but the guy turns to go for my kids so I go beg him to leave them be. As he takes aim to me he tells my ex "hey you, I want you to watch before you die" I take my chance n twist the gun to the guys face, as I do my ex says "ma don't!" I barely am able to keep it pointed to him and as my ex is trying to come help I manage to push his finger hard enough to pull the trigger. After a pause of shock I turn to my ex to help him, he says we need to move and as I turn for my kids gun in my hand..I wake up. What can this mean??
