My new baby RES turtle isn't eating...?

I got him yesterday and have been trying to feed him turtle pellets and a few times he's taken a nibble at it but hasn't ingested a significant amount. Should I be worried? Is there a particular way I should be feeding him? I tried putting it in front of him in the water, and tried putting it on his dock and he hasn't really touched it. What should I do?
