What would be the immediate impact to Earth, if an asteroid the size of Utah hit the moon?

I am working on a story and was wondering what would be some of the physical aspects of such an impact on Earth within a few minutes of it happening. The asteroid will be large enough to push the moon from our orbit, but not enough to destroy it. At first I thought maybe a large boom, but then I realized it's hitting the moon and we probably wouldn't hear a thing. Any advice would be appreciated.
