Calling a time out? Or should I?

I am not surprised that I have gotten some very good answers and opinions....thank-you all so very much..New situation...how do I tell the love of my life I need a break from her without hurting her feelings? Our relationship has gone sour due to excessive baggage...drama and her new attitude for independence..3 yrs down the drain..I dunno...I am beginning to not care anymore..what we had seems to be lost..like tainted love and past situations have caused us numerous break-ups.Must I risk the fact we may never get back together or things will never be the same...We cant seem to compromise anymore? She wants things her way..i want them my way...2 stubborn type A personalities?...My heart is on hold? Any suggestions? Please?
