How old do you think this shoe is ? PLEASE?

I have a shoe in my attic in the fireplace..it's been here since i moved in ..it is black leather..one piece solid on top..no laces.. it goes up to ankle..it is hard as a rock..the bottom of shoe has across the whole bottom of sole what appears to be nails or pins or tacs holding it on.. when did they make shoes like this ?
