Why is space exploration important and what do they actually gain fro it?

It is not per say important the earth will still spin if we stopped right now, But is a natural human in stink to explore, like early explorerse just want to know whats out there and maybe find another cicivilizationhopes up) and a day will come when we will have to leave this planet and move to another so we need to find suitable planets.
